The Joys of Sleep!
September 28th, 2008
So on Friday night, the youth group joined in a lock-in with other youth groups who were apart of the youth association of Rochester. Unlike lock-in’s that we’ve typically done in the past with the youth group, for this lock-in, sleep was optional. Being a leader, I had to help out by staying up and keeping a watch over things. Gotta make sure the kids don’t get too crazy.
Now I’ve never really been one to pull all-nighters. I’ve actually never pulled an all-nighter for anything related to school, for good or bad. So this was the first time in a long while that I was forgoing sleep. Fortunately, I had games, conversation, sports to help keep me up for the night, although I did “fall asleep” for like 20 minutes while sitting in a chair at about 5 in the morning.
Luckily for me, I was able to make it through the entire night before coming back home. After showering, I went to my bed and promptly slept for 5 hours. I think I woke up around the 3 hour mark, looked at the clock, and then went back to sleep. Even though I got 8 hours of sleep last night, I’m still trying to recover from lack of sleep.
Maybe I’m simply getting older, but boy is it nice to be able to get a good nights rest. This is probably why I never pulled all-nighters for work… or maybe it was just cause I valued sleep over school ![]()
