Singapore - Update 5
November 19th, 2007
I got back from Phuket last night and started my first day of work at my second project site. What an amazing last few days! So here’s some highlights of phuket:
We stayed at Patong Beach, and a hotel named Baan Laimai.
The first night, we checked out a Muay Thai Kickboxing Match, where we saw one kid get a shin kick to the head/neck. total knockout!
Our first morning we took a snorkeling tour to Khai Island (Koh Khai Nok I believe). They took us out to a small island in the middle of the ocean, and we dove in for some fun snorkeling. Afterwards, they dropped us off at the island, where we chilled for a few hours. I got some really amazing pictures here.
Later that day we got Thai massages, which by the way are awesome.
The last day, we took a ride on an elephant up a mountain. Very fun, but i got pretty motion sick. Still it was worth it - when will you ever ride an elephant again in your life?
Exhausted, but thankfully not sun-burned, I returned back to hot and humid Singapore. The only nice thing about singapore is that there are virtually no mosquitos in the entire country - i think I got 30-40 mosquito bites in Phuket!
In two weeks I’ll be going to Taiwan to meet up with my parents. And then in another two weeks, I’ll be done with Practice School and in Japan!
Hoorah!
