Singapore - Update 3
October 27th, 2007
So taking advantage of our first weekend here, we headed out to downtown for some sight seeing and general experiencing of what Singapore has to offer. Last night, we ate some of Singapore’s signature dishes: Sambal Stingray, Chili Crab, Satay. Today, we set out to experience some other aspects of Singapore.
Like Kickapoo Joy Juice - a melloyellow drink with the image of a cowboy and an indian, in a steaming bath tub, flying through space. Kickapoo, a drink from Singapore.
Or perhaps, Green Tea Hokkaido Ice Cream. Served in a triangular cone, made with the artistry that is deserving of a japanese concession.
The Esplanade Music Theatre - Two giant durian-looking buildings that house music halls. Great view.
Or the Merlion. Its a mermaid lion, apparently the icon / mascot of the country.
Or the construction. I dont think i’ve ever seen so many cranes in one area. I can’t tell if this is a construction project, or just a parking lot for cranes.
As for food, we had frog legs…
and durian…
Remind me to NEVER again eat durian. Although i have pretty dull tastebuds, they are highly susceptible to this.
What’s in store for the future? Perhaps Sentosa, Phuket, or even Taiwan?
