So I just read a fascinating article about three career paths that really are just for the fun and love of it. They aren’t the flashiest, most popular jobs, and certainly not the highest paying (far from it). But what keeps these people going is a passion for their craft and not a six-figure salary.

And that’s something I respect.

Sometimes we’re caught up too much in benefits and compensation rather than doing what we love to do. Sadly, this mentality becomes so engrained in us, that growing up we stop wanting to become policemen, firefighters, nurses, astronauts, and start wanting to become doctors, lawyers, i-bankers, CEOs. I guess it could be a question of whether you “live to work or work to live,” or it could be a question of how materialistic this society has become.
