Spring Break Atlanta

March 18th, 2006

Howdy y’all.
I’ve just returned from an amazing road trip down to the South. So me, Chengjou, and Terry headed down to the South for our Spring Break trip.
Here is our trip breakdown:

First we stopped in Charlotte, NC to visit some of CJ’s cousins and relatives.
Next we headed over to Atlanta, where we first dropped Terry off at her house and visited her Church: The First Baptist Church of Atlanta. OMG it was awesome. I love megachurches.
The next day we went and explored downtown Atlanta, where we fulfilled my lifelong dream of visiting the Coca-Cola Museum. I can die a happy man now. I think the picture below says it all:

After that we went to the Georgia Museum. The world’s largest Aquarium, containing two Whale Sharks! Very nice facility, albeit fishy smell. (*The home of the next generation Coca-Cola Museum will be built next door to the aquarium). Afterwords we went across the street to eat at McCormick’s & Schmick’s, a seafood restaurant. mmm. I had mako shark.

The next day, me and CJ went out to eat at the Varsity, Atlanta’s equivalent of The O. So good.

After that we went to Stone Mountain Park where we walked up this giant slab of rock plopped in the middle of flat Georgia. A good time for walking and burning calories.

At night we went to eat at Zaxby’s, a fast food chain with supposedly the hottest chicken wings known to man (by man I mean Vang). Too bad we didn’t try them.

After eating, we went to the movie theater and watched the debut of “V for Vendetta”. A movie I highly recommend. Its sometimes cheesy, but overall its really good. Perhaps as impactful as the first Matrix movie (prolly not).

Saturday we drove back, a 11 hour drive. And here I am, in Pittsburgh, where it is currently 25 degrees. In atlanta it was 65 and sunny every day. sigh…

A short trip, but one that I will always love. Why?
