OIL 2006
January 7th, 2006
So the past few days I went with my buddy Mike to the OIL winter conference in Montrose, PA. And we both had a good time, where we learned a lot, met a lot of people, and got weirded out a lot too. The conference was a gathering for a number of major korean fellowships (which will explain the weirdness)Â in the east coast/midwest region. Joshua Harris was a speaker there too. And for the most part, I would describe the whole thing as one thing: challenging. In a good way - it makes you struggle with many issues and think and reflect alot.

I think the coolest part about the retreat is that you can walk up to a total stranger and start a conversation about your spiritual walks and not worry about “building up” to it. For example, you have small groups who you meet only 4 times over the course of the entire retreat, and yet you share and have pretty deep fellowship with them. Of course feeling like Yao Ming among the crowd isn’t that shabby either.
A picture of my small group at OIL. And it is linked to some of the pictures I took.
