Christmas Break!

The joys of being able to have Christmas break when you’re in school. In jr high/high school, you would always look forward to the week (hopefully two week) break you would get for Chrsitmas. In college, depending on school, you could get anywhere from 2 weeks to a month off. I was fortunate enough to have a month off for Christmas break each year while at the University of Illinois. I think the University at Buffalo also gave a month off for break too. However, when it comes time to graduate and move into the working world, you no longer get anymore extended vacations, unless you use up your vacation time. Luckily for me, I still will get a week off for Christmas without using any vacation! I actually think that I’ll be getting the same amount of break as the high schoolers this year. Woohoo! Here’s to another week of work before a week off!

Man, you’re lucky. How does your company allow an entire week without vacation? I need to use 6 full vacation days just to take the same amount of time off (including 2 days just to travel).
Anyway, enjoy the time, maybe I’ll see you over break.

The company uses some floating holidays during the week, and we make up the work for one of the days by working extra hours a few weeks prior to the holidays.
