It’s all your fault!
September 14th, 2005
How many times have you seen someone do something wrong, yet not accept any responsibility for what they’ve done? How about when you bring it up to that person that they did something wrong, yet the first thing they do is to give you an excuse as to why it went wrong. I know I do this myself sometimes as I’m sure no one likes to be wrong. Especially with my dictator tendencies
I definitely don’t like to admit that I’m wrong. Yet, when something like this happens, all I do by shifting the blame or by making excuses is to make the situation worse than it has to be. Granted, some people aren’t happy with just an apology, but typically it’s a lot better than trying to worm your way out of it, but then again those people that aren’t happy with a sincere apology must live unhappy lives.
With all that’s happened in the past few weeks with Hurricane Katrina, all you hear almost everyday and read in the papers everyday is who did what wrong. It’s most likely because this is what sells papers and makes money for the media, but why is it that people were trying to blame others first before trying to help those in need. Sure, things were probably handled poorly in certain circumstances, but when is anything ever gonna work perfectly? The day that happens, is the day Jesus comes back to earth with everything happening according to His perfect plan.
I’m sure that most people weren’t looking for people to blame, and were instead looking for ways to help. But the more you read the news, the more you watch the news, the more it seems like the hurricane must have been the President’s fault which is plain dumb. Obviously, people will always keep trying to find someone to blame. It’s simply a lot easier than accepting blame and criticism for yourself. Please, no comments about who you thought was wrong in such a situation as that’s just pure politics. While we were growing up, when were we taught to not own up to our actions? Next time, try owning up to your own mistakes. It’s ok to accept that you were wrong, and will make for easier times in the future for all.
