ExxonMobil
August 6th, 2005
So I was talking to my friend about companies, and we started discussing my current employer: ExxonMobil.
Not many people know that I work there, so heres some fun facts I got about the company:

- Exxonmobil (XOM) is the most profitable company in the world. With annual revenues of $279B and profits from that at $134B, it comes only second behind Walmart.
- At this rate, were XOM to succeed in its plan for global conquest by becoming a new nation, it could participate in the annual G8 meeting (Global Eight: the global economics meeting of the 8 richest countries in the world).
- XOM makes more profits than the entire nation of France.
- The Per Capita Revenue for XOM is roughly $3.1 million dollars; that is, each employee at exxonmobil, from CEO to gas station attendant, contributes on average to 3.1 MM of XOM’s total annual revenue. Walmart, with its 1 million employees, is only $300,000.
- If Walmart and ExxonMobil were to team up and become a nation together, and all the walmart employees were enlisted as soldiers. ExxonMobilMart would be about the world’s 7th richest country with the 3rd largest army.
- It costs more money, more manpower, and more engineers to construct a new oil rig than it does to send a satellite to Saturn (The Cassini Spacecraft). XOM currently has about 20 new oil rigs under construction (the coolest part being that they can, and often do, drill sideways).
- There are 2 million engineers in the US, and this has nothing to do with exxonmobil.
Hope you found this educational and fun at the same time! I sure did researching all this at work (albeit in lieu of actual work). Enjoy!
