What’s new
June 14th, 2005
Well, seeing how there hasn’t been a post in almost a week, I figured I’d post an update as to what’s been going on. All in all, things have been going pretty well. I’m getting used to the 8-5 workdays, although I’ll soon be working 10 hour days to get Friday’s off. Work is going pretty well and I’m really enjoying working there which is always a big plus. It does get tiring spending most of your day at work. Especially coming from only having maybe 4 hours of classes a day and then being done. One benefit is that I no longer have any homework. No more pulling all nighters…actually I never have pulled an all nighter for school work, so forget that idea. I’m not exactly sure having a Masters degree makes me any smarter, but atleast I can say I have the degree.
Outside of work during the week, I really just work out. Monday thru Thursday, my brother and I have been going to work out for about 90 minutes after work. I’m sure it’ll pay off eventually, although I’m not sure eating 3 burgers from McDonald’s right afterwards helps, but boy are those burgers good.
I’m also going to youth group on Fridays, and will be helping out with whatever I can, and will be teaching Sunday school too for the children’s Sunday school program starting soon.
Other than this, life is just going pretty smoothly. Though it doens’t help that I’ve been driving my brother’s car to work since he has the longer drive and took my car. His car already hasn’t started in the mornings a few times so I’ve had to get a ride to work and then picked up at the end of the day. Good thing I live so close to work. Some future highlites include Mazie coming to Rochester for the 4th of July weekend, so it’ll definitely be nice to see her.
Other than that, it’s just work as usual.
I’ll try to think of more creative things to write to keep all you readers entertained. But till then, let’s see if anyone can answer this question. I’ll think of something for the person who can correctly answer the question.
Why are uplink frequencies to satellites higher than downlink frequencies from satellites?

I think its because Uplinks send information and Downlinks recieve information. So If uplinks will have to have a longer wavelength in order to send the information long distances while the downlinks will need shorter wave-lengths to recieve the information…..?

heh, good guess alex, but you’re sending the same info to and from the satellite. The satellite’s only an intermediate step between two radios on the ground. keep guessing though.
and there’s never too nerdy a question to answer
