Revenge of the Nerds

Funny monkey pictureYes, yes. I am a nerd, or more aptly put an enginerd. Ever since we got this website, I have tediously gone over code and designs in order to best present a website that people can enjoy. Once I sit down on my computer, I begin to look over webpages that can give me more ideas, or hit up forums and find out if there’s anything cool that I can do to this site. Take that image block you see on the right. I spent a good day and a half just working on it trying to get it to work how I wanted it to work. This involved me asking people for help, searching the internet for correct ways to code, and just testing and retesting until it finally worked, and I still even want to work on it some more to make it more random. This doesn’t take into account the number of previous times I’ve tried and failed only to come back and try again.

Now why am I a nerd you ask? Well, it’s cause I find myself actually enjoying the fact that I can sit down and just work on my website. Even though it’s tedious and unproductive at times, I enjoy just being able to get that end result. It’s just too bad that I don’t know code well enough where I can just sit down and type away, but instead have to go search everything up and ask people for help. I’m also taking straight Electrical Engineering classes. I mean come on, how much more of a nerd can I be to just take EE classes. Well, there is my brother and his schedule of classes. Maybe I should make webpages for people for a living… but most everyone has their xanga and I don’t really know what I’m doing. Oh well. But it’s ok, because I’m ok with the fact that I’m truly just a nerd deep down. Mazie doesn’t seem to mind either, so all is well. :)

  32. I am an über nerd. I like science but is there something bad about that?:?: I mean science has made televisions, Computers, telephones etc. Without science we would be usesless. Our evolution has depended on inventors(I am an inventor :twisted:)
    So I want to make the world a better place by making inventions wich will make the world more easy. But there is one down side, We become extremely lazy. Your saying well I go on five jogs a day? Well we have invented burners instead of making a fire our selves and cars instead of walking somewhere.

  55. hey i’ve just been looking around the website and its really cool, congrats!
    about the nerd post. oh my god. i just remembered how i was when i was a kid. DAMN. i was small, had these glasses that were bigger and thicker than me and my teeth were just all crooked and all over the place. I was stuck without knowing what was happening with the nerds. Now, about 5 years later, after some contacts, acne cream and a great dentist I am still a nerd. But i’m a smokin hot one. And i love it.
