Live to Eat, or Eat to live?
January 19th, 2005
For some time now, I’ve noticed that there were two kinds of people:
People who loved to eat food (perhaps spurned by some hedonistic tendency); and
People who ate just to stay alive (tastes rather bland, i know).
However, I’ve come to the realization that those stereotypes no longer apply; there is a broad spectrum of eating habits for today’s diverse society.
I will now list the ones that come to mind in classic online quiz fashion:
Glutton - You eat because it pleasures you in sensitive areas. Don’t worry, you’ll get fat sooner or later.
Utilitarian - You eat because it is a necessary activity to stay alive. Don’t forget to breathe as well.
Clock Watch - You eat to speed along your passage of time. (read: you are a very very boring person)
Socialite - You eat because other people eat. you probably smoke as well.
Crutch - You eat for support, either emotionally, physically, or (?) spiritually. Sure beats cocaine.
Zombie - You eat with the notion that, like brain-eating zombies, you will gain powers from the things you consume (namely intelligence).
Capitalist - You eat because small children in third world countries can’t. You pig.
