“I regret to inform you…”

Rejected
A few days ago, I got a letter in the mail from a company I interviewed with a month ago. The letter stated that the company was sorry to “inform me but they would not be extending me an offer at this time.” Now this didn’t come as a surprise to me seeing how I told the company that I wouldn’t graduate till next December, and that they didn’t really offer internships since they were a small company. But this got me to thinking about rejection.

In my life of 22 years, I’ve been through plenty of rejection. I’ve been rejected by many many many schools, girls, companies, sports teams, you name it and I’ve probably been rejected from it. Getting rejected by a girl is probably the worst, because you most likely liked that person but they didn’t like you back. Schools/companies aren’t too bad because they’re not as present as a girl. Sports teams aren’t bad either becasue they’ll usually take players who try hard and may not have the most skill, but a girl most likely won’t take you just because you try hard. You might be thinking I’m just a loser for being rejected so much, but I really have no dissapointments from being rejected, especially since I do have a wonderful girlfriend.

What should someone do when they find themselves rejected? Try again? In some cases yes, in other cases no. If you got rejected by someone of the opposite sex, then I doubt you’ll have any chance with them later, although it could be possible. If you got rejected by a school, then it probably just wasn’t meant to be. Some people use rejection to drive them to become better so that they won’t be rejected the next time. I applaud those people who don’t give up and gain a purpose from the rejection. They’ll probably be successful in life if they don’t let rejection let them down, but they’ll still find themselves rejected at times. Then there’s others who just simply fold and let the rejection take over their life. “Why didn’t they want me?” These people will probably continue to be stuck in a rut until someone else comes along and picks them up.

For the most part, I’ve taken rejection in stride. Things just weren’t supposed to happen how I wanted them to, but something better has always come along which might not have been my first choice. Also, I can take hope from one place where I’ll never be rejected.

For those of you that like sure things, and hate to be rejected, there’s one person who won’t reject you. You’ll always win! That person would be Jesus. You will never be rejected for wanting to follow Jesus. Sure, others may reject you, but you will never be rejected by Jesus if you believe in Him and follow after Him. He will accept you how you are, and never reject you no matter how bad/good you may think you are.

I can take hope in knowing that while I might have been rejected from something I wanted, God is watching over me and has something even better in store for me. Hopefully, you can find that same hope.

I also used the picture cause I like it, and I was able to reject someone else!
