Wax ON/ Wax OFF
November 27th, 2004
so I was debating whether to bring back to school my television. It would be really nice to have one in the dorm; and it would complete our living room. the only problem was that the television i have at home had broken speakers. I used it last summer in Buffalo notwithstanding, but was forced to use my computer speakers for sound.
I decide that i should try to bring it. So i’m perusing the television to figure out if its travel-worthy. and i look at the back. In a tiny nook what do i find but the following words:
INTERNAL SPEAKERS ON/OFF
Now I click the funky little button and the sound starts working again. Besides calling myself dumb, i do the next best thing. I blame the television: Now who in their right mind makes a television that you can turn off the speakers to?! that’s ludicrous. and thats what decided it all:
When i grow up, i’m going to be an engineer that does NOT make funny little buttons in the back of televisions that turn off the speakers for no reason at all.

Aren’t those usually there if you want to connect your TV to surround sound?
