Lawrence’s Guide to Voting

November 1st, 2004

Well, seeing how election day is only a day away, I figured I’d make a post about my guide to voting. In this post, I’ll detail about what I feel will be the best way to go about voting for a candidate for public office. I have put together this guide after having seen many ads, letters that candidates have mailed me, many commercials on tv, and even an telephone ad. This is a simple science that should be taken in all seriousness too. So without further ado, my guide to voting for the 2004 election.

For this election, after putting much thought into who I would vote for in the various public office positions, I decided that I would vote based on one main issue. The issue to end all issues. My deciding factor will be whether or not the candidate is considered good looking. Yes that’s right, I will vote based on how good looking he or she is. Now you may be thinking that I’ve gone crazy, or that I don’t know what I’m talking about. That may be true, but let me continue on anyways.

Now why would anyone be stupid enough to vote for someone based off their looks? If you actually think about it, with an image first society, why shouldn’t people be voting for the good looking candidate. I believe that there have been studies done that have shown that good looking people are more likely to excel when compared to someone of equal ability and of lesser appearance. So I might as well put someone good looking into office so that they’ll have a better chance to succeed. Good looking people are more likely to inspire others around them, and are more likely to get their way. If the elected person is supposed to represent the people that voted for him, I’d rather have someone good looking represent me than someone not as good looking.

But what happens if both candidates are equally as good looking or equally as bad looking? Well, I would then take a look at their spouses. If they’re not married, then I wouldn’t want them to represent me anyways. Someone who understands the value of family and has one of their own to watch over would get my vote over someone who isn’t married. But if both candidates have spouses, then i would see who has the better looking spouse. I figure if the candidate could get a better looking spouse to marry them, then they’re more likely to get done what they want in office. Next, I would look at their children if both spouses are equal looking.

There you have it, my guide to voting for the election this year. Vote based on the looks of the candidate, their spouse, and then their children. And hey, if the candidate I vote for loses, atleast they can say that they have a good looking family. So now that you’ve read my guide to voting, on Tuesday go out and vote for the better looking candidate. Just to let you know, my vote would goto Bush because Kerry always looks like he’s about to fall asleep. He definitely needs some more botox. Also, Laura Bush looks a lot better than Teresa Heinz who had some pretty bad shots of her during the debate. They made her look to be one scary woman.

So all of you should go out and vote so we can put the good looking people into office this year! ;)
