Hope for Education
September 30th, 2004
Feeling rather whimsical today, Mitchell stumbles upon a website where Samsung was having an essay contest. Grand Prize: $100,000 worth of digital technology for the school of your choice. Author gets a flat screen monitor.
Requirements: 100 word or less essay.
Seeing as how Mitchell writes 100 words or less in his daily planner, Mitchell decides to enter.
Mitchell submits the following:
When I look into the sky, I see clouds. As I look, the clouds take on shapes: a smiling face, an angry elephant, a half-eaten hot dog. Why? It is because my imagination takes what is, and turns into what could be. The reaches of the imagined are endless, boundless. The introduction of multimedia technology lets us take things from imagination to realization. In our community, the digital age has opened doors of realization never before “imaginedâ€. With Samsung digital technology, West Ridge Elementary School can be a birthplace for that imaginative realization - the source of true innovation.
Cross your fingers…
Next year, West Ridge Elementary School will be decked out.
