Sour!

Vitamin C is a very important to have in one’s diet. It plays an essential role in the immune system for our bodies. Vitamin C contributes to healthy bones, aids in healing wounds, helps with iron absorption, gives antioxidant protection, and also helps with inflammation and pain among many things.

Now, one very good way to get your source of Vitamin C is through fruits and vegetables! Broccoli and Oranges are two good examples of places to get your Vitamin C. However, have you ever thought of trying lemons? Lemons are a great source of Vitamin C, and not only do you get your daily needs of Vitamin C, the highest percentage of all the fruits, but you ladies (and gentleman too) can use lemons as a beauty product! Yes, that’s right! Lemons make excellent beauty treatments.

Be like Justin, Jimmy, and Brian who decided that they were not only interested in getting clearer skin, but were also wanting the extra Vitamin C. Pucker up boys! So head out to your nearest grocery store and pick up some lemons. Your body and your skin will thank you for it!

*I stand corrected, I guess lemons aren’t the highest percentage of vitamin C of all fruits. I did read it somewhere which prompted me to post that fact though.

  2. If you want lemons as a source of vitamin C, just eat them like oranges. If you want to use lemons as a beauty product, you’ll need to use the lemon juice and mix it with something else to use as a lotion/cream.

  4. do not use lemon juice without dilution. mix it with water in 1:1 ratio. in typical lemon-scented product, it either contains “lemon scent oil” at 0.5% or “lemon extract” at 0.1%. no actual lemon is used.

  5. Lawrence, lemon does not rank anywhere near the top of vitamin C content among fruit. It is considered “very good” or “excellent”. However, fruit such as orange (yes, orange), papaya, guava, and strawberry have more vitamin C (on per gram basis) than lemon.
