Youth Group

July 25th, 2004

Well, seeing how I’ve been back at home this summer relaxing, I’ve been able to help out with my church youth group. Instead of being one of the student leaders, I’m now considered an actual Youth Leader, kinda along the ranks of Dave/Eric/Gloriana. It’s really been encouraging helping out with youth group and watching them grow, watching them lead, and watching them just have fun. It was like just yesterday I was still part of the youth group…ok, maybe 4 years ago, but it’s close enough. Now I’m here leading them. Instead of my giving the lesson, I’m helping to advise someone else in leading the lesson.

It’s kinda crazy how fast everyone has grown up. I still remember everyone in the youth group when they were like 2 years old! Now I get to be one of those people that say “aww I remember you when you were this tall” (having hand close to the ground) Now they’re leading Bible studies, leading praise, organizing events. It’s really encouraging and great to see. God definitely continues to work wonders in this youth group, and it’s really been an exciting thing to be apart of, either in it many years ago or helping to lead it. For those of you currently in the youth group, great job and keep up the great work!

Boy I’m getting old…
